JARDIN MAJORELLE

An artist's retreat, the garden of Majorelle is surrounded by beautiful fountains and cacti. With it's trademarked blue paint adorned on the walls of the building, this landmark also includes a shop and restaurant. Make sure to visit Cafe Jardin Majorelle for light eats.

Palais Bahia

I've always admired architecture in the Middle East, but there's something different about the architecture in Morocco. Upon entering Palais Bahia, I was left breathless by the beautiful, bold patterns of the building as well as the courtyards.

La Mamounia

One of the most beautiful hotels my eyes have ever seen, La Mamounia is an incredible work of art. An upscale getaway, La Mamounia is a must-see even if you don't plan on staying at the hotel. La Mamounia also has a spa, which might be a good retreat idea if you're staying in the bustling medina.

Koutoubia Mosque

One of the most well-known landmarks in Marrakech, this mosque is one of the largest mosques in all of Morocco. Also in Jemaa El Fenaa, this holy structure is steps away from the heart of the medina.

El Badi Palace

Previously a palace owned by the ruling dynasty, built in the 16th century, El Badi Palace was the hub for the Biennale exhibitions during our visit to Morocco. It was such a beautiful place with pockets of greenery and pools.

TO EAT

Nomad

Unless you knew about this place, you would never notice it while walking through the medina. The presentation of the dishes were beautiful and I loved hearing the call to prayer throughout the rooftop. A great place for lunch when exploring the city!

Le Jardin

A tiny gem in the medina filled with grenery, Le Jardin has a delicious lamb couscous!

Comptoir Diarna

We actually went to this restaurant for my friend's cocktail party during her wedding weekend and each dish was well-curated. The vibes of this place were very relaxed and the music here was great. An upscale dining space if you're up for getting fancy and enjoying a night out.

Terrace Des Epices

Tucked into the heart of the souk, this restaurant is most enjoyable during the ambiance of the sunset. Overlooking the medina, this restaurant features delicious European-inspired Moroccan dishes.

to do

Jemaa el-Fnaa

A square in the heart of the souk. It's interesting, really. All the things you would imagine to see in the Middle East from western films like cobras and dancing to townsmen trying to sell you random things from under their coats. We went here during the sunset and I must say this was an experience.

SOUK SHOPPING

Roaming around and getting lost in the little streets and alley way of the souks is my favorite thing to do. There's so many things to shop (my favorite being the miniature pottery). It's hard to go into a store and leave without nothing. Let's just say that I brought back a few house things and a ton of argan oil that I had not planned to shop.

HAMMAM MARRAKECH

Indulge in a hammam spa treatment. I will admit, I was a little hesitant to get cleaned by someone else, but this had to be my favorite part of the trip. I felt feeling relaxed and so refreshed! I really don't do spa treatments since I'm always running around, but if there's any where to do it...it's here.
